Nashville Bound!!!

Our week definitely ended up much better than it started! Last Sunday night Lindall and I spent the WHOLE night throwing up....evidently we ate something bad! We narrowed it down to some pork sausage but we are the only one's that got sick, so who knows. All I know is that I've have never been so sick in my life! After 8 hours of non-stop vomiting...we headed to the ER to get some relief. They prescribed some meds to stop the vomiting and told me to share it with my husband when I got home....and it worked! Although we were completely worn-out it was much better than the alternative. Definitely a night we will remember!

Thursday, Dalton had his first airplane experience! We flew to Nashville, TN to visit Grandma D. He did really well on the plane. Even though he didn't sleep during the flights, he was really content...and entertaining to the row behind us:) He did manage to work up a poopy diaper on the 2-hour plane stretch...which meant we had to use the plane lavatory changing table. It wasn't that bad actually. After we landed, Grandma D picked us up at the airport and we headed home for the evening. So the experience of the airport and baby went really well, thank goodness!

Saturday we had an exciting day! We started the morning at the Nashville Farmers Market. Their farmers market is the real deal. All home grown veggies, fruits, flowers, organic meat, eggs, cheese, and milk (in the neat glass containers). They also have a flea market section with dry goods (clothes, jewelry, pottery, etc). We ended up leaving with a variety of tomatoes, bell peppers, bread, a variety of squash, and flowers. So we'll cook those up this week.

After the market we went over to a quilting shop that DeLone had found in Lebanon. I've been wanting to make a quilt (even though my sewing portfolio consists of burp cloths with fabric sewn in the center part). So I looked at fabrics forever trying to figure out what I would like to use on my quilt. It was a really neat shop with TONS of quilting fabric. Then my little man was ready for a nice long nap so we went home to recoop.

That evening we went to Leipers Fork to Puckett's Grocery for dinner. Puckett's is a whole-in-the-wall old grocery store that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Wednesday through Saturday they have live entertainment at night. Its all acoustic and they usually have some locally known singers/songwriters...even some famous locals drop in from time to time. Loretta Lynn's daughter, Peggy, was one of the entertainers this Saturday. She also brought her daughter and her niece. There were a couple of other guys that sang too. It was really good! The people here in TN are so down home and just so nice...I could live here for sure!

Fourth of July in Broken Bow

We had a great time in Broken Bow for the 4th of July. Dalton and I got to spend a week with Papa T and KK, and Sam and Tristan. The boys are more entertaining each time they are together. Tristan has figured out that we applaud him when he gives Dalton hugs and kisses. So now the hugs are really long and tight...which has made Dalton a little gun shy:) I'm sure he'll appreciate them one day! We got to spend some time with Uncle Donnie, Aunt Suzanne, Cody, Wendy, Kyler, Amanda, and ofcourse, little Brody Jess (the newest addition to our family) on the 4th which we really enjoyed! We had a great holiday with our family! We really are so blessed :)

Father's Day 2010

We had a great 1st Father's Day with Lindall. He got a picture of his clone (Dalton) to hang in his locker at the station and some new workout shoes (5fingers). We had dinner with Michael (Lindall's dad), Kristin and Sterling that evening....which included some blackberry cobbler:) It was a nice relaxing day!

Celebrating 4 Years!!!

Four years ago Lindall and I were married on Glover River in Broken Bow, OK. Still the best wedding I've ever been to (ofcourse!:) ) About this time 4 years ago we were having a great time, dancing to an awesome band with our family and friends. What a wonderful celebration!!! I wish we could do it all again, we had so much fun!
Now four years later, with a beautiful, healthy baby boy, we have an even more wonderful marriage thanks to God. We are so blessed to be in His will where he continues to bless us and our family.

So, tonight Lindall and I treated ourselves to none other than....SUSHI NEKO!!! Oh man how I have missed that place. It cannot be beat! The only bad part is that I'll crave it for the next 3 months! Afterwards we had Braum's mixes for dessert and they were so good...as always. Dalton got to stay with Lindall's captain, his wife, and daughters for the evening. They were great with him and he didn't cry 'til I walked in. Then he got really excited and then started whining for me! :) Yes, I'll admit, I love it! So we had a great 4th anniversary!!! Looking forward to many more!

Dalton enjoyed his new view of the grocery store! This is his first time to ride like a big boy out of his infant seat.

Flash Flood!

These pictures are of our front yard on Monday when OKC area got 11" of rain. The 'red river' covered the road in front of our house...thankfully it all drained without ever getting close to the house:)

Pickin' Blackberries

Dalton and I had a very busy day yesterday. He is really getting good at entertaining himself with his toys...and the ones he enjoys the most aren't really toys :) (e.g. water bottles, kitchen utensils, etc) So while he played hard I got lots done around the house. We ended our day at the Sorgum Mills Blackberry Patch. Its a really nice blackberry farm just NW of our house. DeLone and I have been going there for a few years now. Since our large amount of rainfall last week the blackberries had grown everywhere! So it was a great time to go. Kristin met us at the farm and we ended up leaving an hour later with 15 lbs of blackberries! What I have pictured is only half of the berries we picked.  I guess we'll be making lots of cobblers and jellies:) So Dalton's first blackberry experience was a good one. Especially since he just got to enjoy the scenery from his stroller :) He is such an easy baby and I'm so thankful!

Today has been a nice little family day:) Dalton and I met Lindall at church this morning at the early service (yes, we were super spiritual today :)!) Church was awesome, as always. The series is ONE Prayer and today Brian Houston spoke from Hillsong church in Australia. He had a great message about looking forward and not to the past and speaking life to your future. I got to serve in the 3 year old room today and boy was I glad to go pick up my little man! He suddenly seemed so easy! After church we came home and worked in the yard, cooked burgers, got Dalton ready for bed and here we are! So nice to have Lindall home for a full day! The day is gone, but it was a good one! Thank you Lord for your blessings!
